Collaborative Editions brings artists together with Creased Press to create small, handmade artist books in editions of no more than 10 copies. ( average 6)

The collaboration begins with form and content. The collaborating artist provides the content, while Creased Press works with them to develop the physical form of the book. The content can include artwork, writing, photographs, drawings, archival materials, or anything else the artist would like to explore. The form can take many shapes, from a traditional codex to folded, sculptural, interactive, or experimental book structures, allowing the physical object to respond directly to the ideas and materials within it.

Together, we decide on the size, structure, binding, paper, and printing methods that best fit the project. Each book is handmade, hand-bound, and produced using processes such as letterpress, screenprinting, relief printing, linocut, monotype, polymer plate printing, or combinations of different printmaking techniques.

Books can take many forms, including folded books, pamphlet bindings, accordion structures, sewn bindings, exposed bindings, and other experimental handmade book structures.

Each edition is developed as a collaboration between the artist’s ideas and Creased Press’s approach to printing, folding, binding, and bookmaking.
