Second Skin is a series of graphite transfer and woodblock prints created during a residency at Brandywine Workshop and Archives in collaboration with master printer Alexis Nutini and Dos Tres Press. Layering graphite transfers of garments with hand-carved woodblock patterns inspired by camouflage from Korean and American military uniforms and the natural markings of animals such as tigers, frogs, pythons, and eels, the prints explore the tension between concealment and visibility. Through repetition, layering, and partial erasure, the works examine how clothing becomes a second skin that carries memory, identity, migration, and the lasting imprint of militarization.
