The Bookstore Sonnets
Sonnets are all about love so why not write them about the books you adore, too. In this short-but-sweet collection, a half-dozen former or current employees of a small bookstore in New Haven meditate and versify on their favorite works of literature -- from Louisa May Alcott's Little Women to Yukio Mishima's Confessions of a Mask and more. Curated and conceived by Drew Pisarra.
Elizabeth Roy, Paola Michaela, Taylor Ikehara, Dallas Mercurio, Emma Brackett, and Ro Godwynn
This handbound book uses a modified origami preliminary base to create a corner-bound structure. Each page unfolds through an adapted pop-up mechanism, expanding into a vertical letter-format page. As the book is opened and the pages are turned, the folds shift, extend, and reconfigure, creating an animated sequence that transforms through the act of reading.
